Winstead represented Omni Hotels and its parent, TRT Holdings, in all aspects of development and construction of the 600-acre world class Omni PGA Resort.

This groundbreaking golf, hotel, entertainment and office development includes the relocation of the PGA’s headquarters to Texas. This marks the first major professional sports organization to be based in the state and is the country’s largest resort currently in development.

The development includes:

  • Two 18-hole championship golf courses, a 10-hole short course, and practice areas totaling 45 holes and a clubhouse
  • The 500-room Omni resort, destination spa, and a 127,000 sq. ft. conference center
  • A technologically advanced retail village and entertainment district
  • The headquarters of the PGA
  • Lounge by TopGolf
  • PGA Frisco coaching center
  • Class AA office space
  • Parks and open space plus several miles of recreational trails

Winstead’s team worked to align the interests of multiple public and private parties to ensure that each constituent’s interests were met while maintaining confidentiality. Our attorneys drew on their experience and industry knowledge to provide creative solutions to the myriad of issues that arose.

The Omni Hotel & PGA of America’s new headquarters and entertainment development represents an initial investment of more than half a billion dollars into the North Texas economy. In addition, it will continue to generate millions of dollars, annually in direct revenue from the new hotel, conference center, entertainment complex, headquarters, and two championship golf courses.

The Omni-PGA Frisco Resort was awarded the Best Real Estate Deal for 2020 by the Dallas Business Journal.
