Winstead represented Aspen Heights Development in the building of a new 14-story student housing complex at Townson University. The new complex—which is located just across the street from the main campus—provides much-needed housing for the university. For Towson, one of the key goals of this development is to raise the standards of what student living can be and to create a draw for new students. This is a public-private partnership and part of a $1.4 billion redevelopment of the area.
The 14-story development includes:
- 611 total bedrooms
- 7,000-plus square-foot outdoor courtyard
- On-site restaurants
- Private garage parking
- Study rooms
- Fitness center
Winstead’s team worked closely with our clients to best understand their needs. We leveraged our deep experience of student housing projects to help navigate the financing, development, regulatory approval, and construction process for Aspen Heights Development.
The new Aspen Heights Towson sets a new standard for housing in higher education. Students have a housing alternative, providing everything from studios to four-bedroom apartments that are situated right near the campus. Completed in the fall of 2020, this public-private partnership marks one of the latest chapters in the significant redevelopment of an area located just a quarter mile away from Towson and one of the most recent successful P3 projects the Winstead team has helped guide.
